Main Ideas? (Why the Glorious Revolution happen?)
The Glorious Revolution happened because of the conflict between the Protestants and the Catholic. King Henry VIII became head of the Church of England for the sole reason of divorcing his wife who would not produce a male heir and, in turn, created the Protestant religion. Eventually, a "war" between Democracy (Protestant) vs. Absolutism (Catholics). When James II of England became King, parliament had had enough and invited William III and Mary II to overthrow James II. Absolutely no blood was shed and William and Mary formed a joint monarchy. This created an example of a representative government, where the parliament puts limits on the ruler, and established a type of government that is based on negotiations and compromise.
